Me and my wife both filed divorce mutually. I am muslim. But now after 6 months I don’t want to leave my wife. I don't want to divorce my wife. Please help me.

Answer-1:

There are two types of mutual consent divorce under Muslim law. One is Khula and other is Mubarat. Wife needs to pay some compensation if she seeks divorce that may be either to keep or go away with her Mehr or Dower. Under khula, wife has to give away her Mehr back to husband to relieve herself from marriage vows. But under Mubarat, both husband and wife want to end the marriage. Any one of them needs to make offer and other to accept it. If offer is accepted by one, divorce becomes irrevocable. But t is necessary to serve Iddat period. If your wife is not willing to live with you, you cannot do anything. You need to talk to her to continue the marriage. As under khula, muslim wife has right to end the marriage by returning the Mehr. In this case mutual divorce may turn into contested one.
