I am running a startup company. One of my ex-employee forged some papers and I fired him for that. Since then he is running the reputation of company by making wrong remarks on social media. Can I file a police complaint against him or what shall I do?

Ans.  

Firstly you should try to resolve the issue by making phone call or by email conversation, asking him to stop defaming the company through company HR. if still he doesn’t stop the stop, send a well written letter to him on company letter head and asking him to stop it or company will take gal action. If the process still continues, send a well-drafted legal notice through a lawyer. Through legal notice you can ask him to remove all defamatory remarks from social media against company and refrain him to do such activity in future and further to seek written apology. 

If still such derogatory remarks are still not stop, you can file a police complaint under Section 499 of Indian penal code. Still have issue please call us. We will help you in this matter.
